How to Play Funk Bass Scales in G Flat (Gb)

RYAN LARSON: Now, I'm going to show you how to do some funk moving around the scale. And what you really want to do is stay in that scale pattern and just use--bounce around the pattern and just use a lot of space. You can use some chromatic notes in there. I'm going to the minor 3rd. So if you take your 3 in the scale, which is right here, and drop it down a notch, you'll have your minor 3rd. Notice I'll leave some space. And that's some basic funk ideas for moving around that G flat major scale and now some nice, spacy grooving going on.
