Reading & Playing G Flat (Gb) Tabs Sketched Vertical on Bass

RYAN LARSON: So now, we're going to take another look at the tab so you can physically see how it looks when you apply it to the bass. So we're going to take a look over here. We have our tab again. Here's your open strings. Notice we're not using any open strings at all, and there is our 1, our root, and we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1. So here is your tab. These are all your frets. So you have your 2nd fret, 4th fret, 1st, 2nd, 4th, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 1st, 3rd, 4th, just like we went through. It's very important to notice that's your 2, and here is your 5, and there is your 1 again. So your 1 and your 1. So these are your roots and there is your 5th. So we're going to through and play again: 2, 4, 1, 1, 4, 1, 3, 4. So really go through and get that scale down and really analyze it and get those numbers under your fingers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 1.
