Playing Basic Scale Pattern in G Flat (Gb) on Bass

RYAN LARSON: So now, we're going to take an actual visual look of the scale. So presuming I have my hands right here, we start right here on G flat. Here's your G flat, right there, 2nd fret; and you're going to go 2nd fret, 4th fret, 1st fret, 2nd fret, 4th fret, 1st fret, 3rd fret, 4th fret. One, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and that's your basic scale intervals, 1, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. And if you look at them, this is the 2nd. This is the 3rd. This is your 4th. This is your 5th. This is your 6th, and then here is your 7th. So that's the basic rundown of your scale. You're going to remember you start on your 2nd fret. I'm going to through and show you the tab for that and look how to read it a couple of different ways so you can really get it under your fingers and start moving around in G flat major on the bass.
