Reading & Playing G Major Tabs Sketched Vertical on Bass

Now we are going to take a look at the tabs sketched out on the bass. Now we look right here we have our tab again but now we put it in vertical so it looks like a bass, so here is our open fret, notice all zeros. Then we have our second fret, there's our root on the bottom string, third, then zero, two, three, zero, two, four, zero, two, four, so if we play again we start right here on the three. (playing guitar) Then we go up a string zero, two, three, then zero, two, four, zero, you have those two fours the two and four on the top string also (two & three). So if we count the scale we have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, one that is your basic pattern. So go through and really get that pattern under your fingers again this is just another way to look at that scale and really so that we can analyze it and get the really important things that we have to get out of a scale.
