How are you doing? My name is Qaeem and on behalf of Expert Village, I’m going to be demonstrating Shorin-Ryu Karate. In Shorin-Ryu Karate, I’m going to be demonstrating the high reverse punch. Now it’s called a reverse punch because pretty much it’s looking as though when you are bringing it back that you are just coming up with a punch that means it is reversing. Which means you are just going to begin both ways, both directions, just the same punch. Now the way that we perform and we demonstrate this punch in my class is from the horse stance. So just like front, we’re going to start in a ready position. Then we are going to go the X block and we’re going to come down into our horse stance. Now we are going to bring our left arm up. This is the punch that you are punching towards someone’s face. Now you see as though my right arm is back in the ready position. When this arm comes back, this arm begins to move to come forward. This is how you practice it slowly. They move at the same time. So by the time this hand, your left hand is back, the right hand should already be up. Both of them should settle into the position at the same time, slowly. We’re going to do this from the side angle. Now when you begin to practise this and you get a little bit better, you want to start moving faster with it and then you can snap it with it. You can get much faster with it and you are just going to do it simply. The same techniques apply. By the time both arms settle they should be settled at the same time. That is reverse punch high towards someone’s face. My name is Qaeem on behalf of Expert Village, thank you for watching.
