Playing 1st Chord of C Major Blues Scale on Piano

Now we're going to take a look at our C blues first. We'll start right here on C. We're using 7 scale, so we have our C7 scale. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1. Notice we add this flat 7 in there. That's very characteristic with the blues. All our scales are going to be 7s. When I say we go to our 4 chord, we go to the 4th chord out of C. 1, 2, 3, 4, so that will be F, and our 5 chord will be G. Now we have our C blues. We're going to our basic little strand here. 1, 3, 5 to 1, 4, 6. That's your blue scale right here. 1, flat, 3rd, 4 up to 5, flat 7. You can take that and improvise over your scales. That's our 1 chord and our first blue scale in C.
