Hi this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village. Today we're going to be discussing Magic: the Gathering the card game. And now after we have drawn a card, signifying the end of our upkeep phase. We are now in our main phase. During our main phase, the first thing you want to do is lay a land so you may use it for mana. And now we're going to play a creature card, the Elvish Handservant. He's a 1/1 Elf Warrior. However when a creature comes into play it gets summoning sickness. This means attacking or any ability that would cause him to tap can not be done until after the end of this turn. This however, has a static ability, whenever a player plays a Giant spell you may put a 1/ 1 counter on Elvish Handservant. So, if I had the mana to play a Giant, or say next turn my opponent played the Giant. Then we can still put the counter on him, because the ability itself is still in play because he does not have to tap. Once again if you wanted to play something else that you have currently. We have the Wanderer's Twig, which we can pay one, sacrifice it, which goes to our graveyard. Then you get to, as it says on the card. You start you search your deck for a basic land and put it into your hand. Take the deck, search for a basic land, like a forest, and you shuffle again. Make sure every opponent sees that you got a basic land. Put it back into your hand and now that you have no more mana to play or no more abilities to trip or nothing else that you want to play during your 1st main phase. Now, it moves to the attacking phase.
