Prepare for Home & Away Games as a College Football Coach

Now we're into Friday and the times on Friday usually depend if you're traveling or if you have a home game. If you're traveling, then usually you're going to leave pretty early whether you're on a chartered flight or it's a bus trip. You'll leave it really depends on the head coach but usually it's an early departure whether you're on the flight or you're on a bus ride. Hopefully it's a flight cause the bus rides usually are long, drawn out and nobody really has too much fun on a bus trip. If it's a home game, which is great, usually you're in about noon time for a staff meeting so Friday's during home games is your chance to spend time with your family, do any errands, go to the cleaners, do anything you really need to personally outside of coaching for the morning which is great because in the coaching world people just think it's a show up on Saturday, Sunday. It's not that. Like I said, I'm sort of taking you through a little deal to give you an idea of what a week consists of and there's a lot of hours that go in there. So Friday's a great morning. Friday will be a walk through no pads for the players. Usually you'll meet offensively and defensively instead of by position, show some kind of clips from the game film of the people you're playing. And basically it's here it is guys. We don't have much more we can say. By now if you don't know what you're doing you're in trouble, we're in trouble. Hopefully we've done a good job of coaching you. You've taken it in and we're ready to go. Get plenty of sleep, plenty of fluids, plenty to eat because tomorrow you got a huge day in front of you.
