Prepare a Football Game Plan By Watching Footage

Monday, the first day of the week is very busy, very long day in the world of coaching. Usually the day is going to start out about anywhere from six to seven in the morning with a full staff meeting. Once that's the done, once the head coaches address the staff, usually break off into your units, offensively and defensively, and it's a huge game plan day. You'll have the breakdowns from the night before. You'll start studying the film, putting together your game plan and how you want to do it. Monday is the player's day off at the college level, so they will not be in the building unless they come in and watch film on their own, which is totally voluntary. Again, it's a very, very big day of the game plan. That's when the coaches get together and they brainstorm, they breakdown the film from the previous opponent, and they want to watch it, they want to find tendencies. It's much easier to put together a game plan behind closed doors, so you're prepared for when the bullets are flying on Saturday or Sunday. You have exactly what you're going to do because you've prepared it, you've looked at the tendencies, you have all of the information, all of the data, all of the studies in front of you. You use your knowledge, you brainstorm with the other people on your staff, and you put together a game plan that's hopefully going to defeat the team you play on Saturday or Sunday. Again, your hours, it's going to be an early morning and you're probably going to leave eleven to twelve at night, depending on if you can get your stuff done and get out of there.
