How to Spay & Neuter Feral Kittens
Hi. I'm Liz Caba from fixnation and I'm here today on behalf of Expert Village to talk to you about feral cats. Okay, ferral kittens. What is the youngest that a ferral kitten can be trapped and spayed and neutered. At our fixnation clinic our vet is very good at early age spay and neuter. And we can do them as early as ten weeks old. That's ten weeks or two pounds. Obviously you don't have a scale out there in the wild feral field. You can't pick them up and weigh them but what it would look like visually is bigger than your hands. So if the cat is, the kitten is at least bigger than your two hands put together and healthy meaning no respiratory discharge at the eyes or the nose. If you happen to trap a kitten don't release it. Go ahead and bring it in. They'll assess if they can do the spay/neuter surgery. It's an early age spay/neuter technique. It's brilliant and don't wait to fix a little feral kitten because our stats, our statistics tell us they're breeding as early as four months old. So you know, who would wish that on anybody.
