RYAN LARSON: So, now we're going to walk through the first two measures of our piece and the only problem that we're really going to encounter is this i minor chord, right? And we went and learnt our A flat major scale but now we have to walk a minor scale, so what do we do? So, the only difference between a major and a minor scale is the third and the seventh degrees are low or brought down a notch. So, if I have 1-2-3, so instead of playing here on the 9th fret, I'm going to drop it down to here. So, I got 1-2-3-4-5-6. And instead of going down to this note, the 7th, I'm going to go down to here. So, I got--so now, my pattern instead of skipping your fret, skipping your fret, skipping your fret, I go, skip a fret, half a fret, skip a fret, skip a fret, skip a fret, skip a fret, skip a fret and then I go to that crunch on the bottom two. So, that's our new pattern, right? So, if this is 6, we have 6-8-9-6-8-10 and we have 9-8-6 on the string below as well and that gives us our minor scale. So, now I can walk two measures to that. So, that's your first two measures and your minor scale which--we're going to utilize that pattern a lot so really get that pattern under your fingers.
