Pitch Names of a B Major Scale on a Bass Guitar

RYAN LARSON: Now we're going to take a look how the scale actually looks on tab. Now if we go over here and look, remember these are each one of our strings, so we have our 1st string down to our 4th and we started on the 2nd string 2nd fret right here right? So there is our 1, and I put a circle around the 2, or a box colored in square to indicate that is the 1, so we have 2-4 right? and then we go up the string 1-2-4 up the string 1-3-4. So I'm going to play that as we look on the paper and go through. We can play this at home, you want to write this chart down to 2-4, 1-2-4, 1-3-4. You can find this on the internet if you Google search or just search for bass guitar tab B major scale or you can just copy this down and we go down right till we got 1, 1 on the 3rd string 1-4-2 and open. So we got 1-4-2 as our 7-6-5 going down and now we have each note has an actual name for it too, alphabetic letter and we start right here in B, we're in B right? So 2 is B, then 4 is C sharp, right there C sharp, then we got 1 on the string up, that is our D sharp and then our E is our two right? Second fret, then we have F sharp which is our 5th, and that put a square around that too as just kind of a little note for you to remember where you are, then go up the string on string on the 1st fret and we have G sharp, A sharp on the 3rd fret, and then B again.
