Measures 7-8 in a Jazz Bass D Major Scale

RYAN LARSON: So now we are at our 7th and 8th measures. So we have our D7 and then we go to an F sharp to a B flat. So we have one, two, D, E, F iii to our vi7 chord. So if you look at our fretboard, we have our I then we have our iii here and our vi there. So we can just walk into the iii, iii-vi, I, iii-vi, I, iii-vi, ii and we're leading into the ii for our next measure so we're going to land on the ii now I, iii-vi, ii, again I, iii-vi, ii. So there's always different ways to walk in the pattern and go from I, iii to vi and then land on your ii which is going to lead into our next pattern which goes to two fives. So we've got I, iii-vi, ii, V, I. So go through and really get that scale memorized as we go and walk through our bebop blues.
