RYAN LARSON: So now we're going to walk through our A section. Again, we have our I chord for two measures, then our ii chord to our V chord a measure each, then it's in reverse; our ii chord and V chord for a measure each, and then we walk our I chord for two measures. And we can throw that iii minor in there, but now we're just going to walk through it to show you, get a good idea of how to do it. So we walk, right? We have our I, which is this open string here and we got to get eight beats out of the scale, so we can walk [PLAYS WALKING BASS], and you can put some chromatic notes in there as long as you get eight notes and end on D, or you can just stay in the scale [PLAYS WALKING BASS]. And then we have to walk our ii, right? Here is our ii and our V. So we have to walk a measure each, ii, V, I. So now I'm going to do the whole thing. So we got I, one-two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight, and ii chord, V chord two-three-four, ii chord two-three-four, V chord two-three-four, I chord two-three-four-five-six-seven-eight, one. So again, we'll walk it again. And we're just walking within the major scale and you can add some chromatic notes in there, it's all right, as long as you land on the downbeat on the right note. So right now, we're just using I, ii, and V. So we got I, ii, V, ii, V, I, I. And you can just walking that for hours and really get that scale under your fingers, and start moving around utilizing your ii minor and your V7 of your D major scale.
