Measure 2 in a Jazz Bass F Major Scale

RYAN LARSON: So now, we've walked our first measure and we went over all those different ways you could go from F to B flat. So now, we're going to go over all these different ways. You can go from B flat to I, so IV to I. So now we started here, right? We're right here on our B flat and then we have to get to here or here, right? So I can go IV, I, IV, I, right? I fell down to it IV, I, IV, I, IV, I right? Or I can go from the high IV to the low I, right? IV, I, IV, I. So you can--there's always these different ways. You can stay on the same scale pattern and get from one root to the next. If you really want to keep that in mind, if you go through your tune slowly and really plot our a root for your fingers to fall.
