RYAN LARSON: Now we're going to take a visual look of the F major scale as it falls on our fingers. So if we start right here, F is right here, 1st fret, bottom string. You got 1-3--or 1-3-open-1-3-open-2-3. Then if we keep going we have open-2-3, and you have this open E, which is your 7th note going into I, so you have E-F. So 7-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1, and we can keep going up the 4, right? 2-3-4-3-2-1-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. And it's very important that you get those numbers down because as we go through and analyze the music, we're going to use chords that start on the ii, right, G minor, right? If we go up, F, G, A, B flat, C, D, E, F. So if we use a G chord, we're going to start here on our ii but we walk the same chord pattern. So that's a G minor and I'm just using that same scale pattern out of F. so that's your F scale visual view with a tab. And go through and really memorize that, and get your numbers down for each note of the scale.
