How to Prep Brake Calipers before Priming

I'm Doug and I work with 20 great guys in St. Louis at Doug's Custom Hot Rods and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. First we're going to prime the brake calipers in preparation for paint. Andy has used a lacquer thinner to clean the calipers real well. Now he's using compressed air and a catch rag to get the fuzzes off that came from his paper towels when he was doing the lacquer thinner and wax and grease remover. The cast iron brake calipers aren't normally considered a paintable surface so they not sanded nice and smooth so they're real rough and they tear up the paper towels, we need to put primer on these, you can't put paint on bare steel, paint won't stick to bare steel it looks nice for a few weeks, but then the paint will start to flake off. So we start with the primer after Andy's got everything nice and clean.
