How to Remove Brake Pads from the Calipers

Hi! I'm Doug. I work with twenty great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. Now I'm going to go through and grab the brake calipers; front and rear brake calipers for the disk brakes because we're going to paint them purple like the flames on the car. They come fully loaded, and they put the cardboard in here to hold them, so we'll go ahead pull the brake pads out of there; no sense painting those as well. Oh, I guess we've got a pin to take out before we can get the pads out of here. Yeah, they have other disassembly work to do here; we've got to get this spring off and stuff before we go to paint. An anti-rattle spring they put in here to keep a little bit of tension against the brake pads, so we'll pull that out too so we don't lose it when we go to paint.
