Hi, I'm Doug. I work with 20 great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we're going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. This job is so cool I can hardly stand it. This is a 70 GTO. This is the peak of muscle cars. A muscle car is defined as a big basic grocery getter with way too much engine. This car was built weighing around 4000 pounds with around 200 horsepower and it had drum breaks all around. That's a very dangerous recipe but today the technology is way better. So we're building a 550 horse motor for it. We've done all the body and paint. This car was totally in great shape when we got it. It had been stored since the late 70's so it had a lot of surface rust but it wasn't beat to death. It hadn't been cowboyed or teenagered. It was in just fine shape but it was nasty and old. So we've redone the body. Done this great black paint job with purple flames. Another shot we'll give you. You can see the flames on it. And now I'm going to show you what we're doing with killer. Big breaks, big honk and disc breaks all four corners. We're going to paint the calipers to match the purple flames on this car.
