Using the Inverse Feature in Adobe Photoshop

This is Kyle with Expert Village, I am going to show you some more tips on using photoshop. Here we go, go to select, inverse, now what it is going to do is this is going to actually inverse it so that you can see it is going to pick the outside instead of the inside. Now if you hit the delete button, everything else disappears. So, that is one way to do it. That way you have a background, now the other way is to go back, undo and then step backwards which is alternate, control and Z all at the same time or you can just hit the edit button and hit step backwards and you are back to here. This is the way I usually do it, it is little bit faster. If you have already got this set up and you kind of like this set up, just type the wand tool click on the layer, the top layer, which is the black layer that should map, then click in there. Now, automatically it picks the part that you pick, so since you are picking the empty spot and then it is going to automatically pick that. So now do the same thing, now that you have the circle all you have to do is go down to your fire level, click on there, go back to select, inverse, now even though you cannot see it, it is inversed on the fire level level. If it makes it easier for you, you can hit this invisibility button here and that way you can see it. Now, hit the delete button on your keyboard, there you go. Now you don’t even need this top layer because you have already got it. So, if you want, you can take this layer, right click it and just hold your right click button down and drag it down the little trash can and then it will just make it disappear.
