Hi this is Elise McMahon with expertvillage.com and this video series we are going to talking about flea and tick prevention. So in this short video clip we are going to be talking about the times of the year that you and your dog are in high risk for flea and tick infestation. It is a little bit different for both fleas and ticks. For fleas it is usually high summer September, October, and for tick it is going to be in spring and fall so you want to be cautious around April, October. What we are talking right now about fairly temperate climates. If you are living in a climate were it is warm all year round then you are going to be at risk all year round. Although you are still going to have different times especially for the ticks that they are going to be emerging the new ticks are emerging. But basically you can think about when it is very warm and very dry it is a good time for the fleas and the ticks are coming out they are emerging topically as in April and October. So that is when you want to start thinking about measure to avoid infestation for you and your dogs. The next video series we are going to be talking about different ways that you can manage your dog for fleas and tick infestation prevention and different products you can use for that.
