Hi! I'm Doug. I work with twenty great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods and we are going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. Alex is now going to mix the final coat of body filler. You've seen him use the "all metal," which is the base coat. It seals out the welding, it goes against the bare metal and seals everything up and waterproofs it and rustproofs it. The next layer was the heavy body filler meant to fill, you know, bigger gaps and all. This top coat...you can also call it glazing, you can call it icing. It's a real fine putty. It's a lot finer texture. It doesn't get air bubbles in it as badly. It's closer and closer to the finished product, you know. Your last coat there is paint and it's real fine textured. So this stuff is a little bit smoother texture. And you want to make sure your tools are clean and in good condition. Alex is rubbing the spatula against the wall here to get the last little burrs off of it. You know, if you have little burrs on your spreader, you'll end up making stripes in your filler and there's something more you have to fill.
