How to Cook Potatoes for Beef Picadillo Poblano Peppers

So now that we got our potatoes soaking in the water we're ready to go ahead and cook them. So I'm going to go ahead and walk over to the sink and we're going to drain them in the colander. Again you want to remember to let them soak into right until you're ready to use them. So that way you don't oxidize or turn brown on you, give it a good shake to get off any access water, perfect. Now we're going to head back to our station and place it on a sheet pan and spread it all out. You want to make sure that you put it all even on the sheet here so that way one piece of potato doesn't cook, then I got some vegetable oil here. I got about a 1/4 cup of vegetable here and I'm going to do about a teaspoon (maybe 2 teaspoons) of salt just to flavor or potatoes. Now with my fingers I'm going to mix it all up and we're going to bake them in the oven for 350 degrees for about 10-15 minutes or until they're soft to touch. You don't have to bake them in the oven I just prefer to bake them in the oven because they tend to hold their shape a little bit better versus doing them in the saute pan. So if you like you can fry them in a fryer or you can do them in a saute pan or you can do them in the oven, we're going to do ours in the oven.
