How to Prepare a Car Trunk Floor for Welding

Hi I'm Doug. I work with 20 great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hotrods. And we're going to do some work today on Expert Village. Alex is cleaning all the edges of everything he's going to weld. Every surface in the car that gets welded needs to be down to bare steel. He's getting all the old rust, the old finish, any under coating or steam sealer. You don't want to try just burning your way through the, with the weld. We want it to be real clean. As always I want to brag up the safety gear. Our guys are real careful. Always wear safety sealed or glasses when they're doing this sort of thing. Here again just the long tedious process of doing careful clean work, removing all of the old, removing all of the Electra coat, ready to be welded and primed in place.
