How to Clean the Cut Area of a New Car Trunk

Hi, I'm Doug. I work with 20 great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods. We are going to do some work for you today on Expert Village. The piece we bought from the vendor has a nice straight edge and we're going to have to trim it here and there, but Alex is going to clean up the entire cut area so it has a nice smooth edge on it. He will grind a little bit off the top in order to remove the old rust and old sealer. Everything needs to be nice and clean and straight so that it welds up as nice looking as possible. You can see here he is cleaning up the top edge, so that there is no contaminates when he does his welding and so we have nice clean steel to put our seam sealer on. Where ever we weld, we need to spread seam sealer on it in order to keep all water out and seal up with weld so it doesn't rust.
