Hello my name is David Gelber, I represent the Hilo Ultimate Frisbee community and I'm here to do a little talk on Ultimate Frisbee on behalf of Expert Village. Ultimate Frisbee is a great team sport. It was developed in Maplewood New Jersey back in the sixties. It involves two teams playing on approximately a soccer field. It's very very competitive, about hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people play it all throughout the world. There's about forty two different countries currently playing ultimate Frisbee. I first got into it back in 1979 in San Diego state and I've been hooked ever since. It's kind of a fringe sport in the sense that it's not recognized as your typical Olympic sport or you don't see it on TV or anything but none the less there is hundreds of thousands of people all through the world playing it. I think forty two countries have actually Frisbee teams at the moment. Certain countries even have state sponsored teams such as Sweden and Japan. The game is very addictive; most colleges will have an Ultimate Frisbee team on campus and usually the players once they pick up the Frisbee they are hooked for life. Many of them dedicate their life styles to it, they'll go to tournaments, parties their whole social circle will revolves around the Frisbee. It can be very amusing. I highly recommend it, it's a great way to meet people. Very spirited, good natured intelligent people playing the game and it's just a wonderful pass time.
