Hi, this is John Carstarphen for Expert Village. Cinema 4D went through a massive program change from versions five to six. Then a slightly larger change from versions six to seven. The program had a version called Go. Cinema 4D Go which is no longer produced. I think it's still supported by Maxon, but it's not made anymore. It has since become, the programs has since become a lot more modular. Meaning you can mix and combine only those aspects of the program that you need, but for the most part since version seven a lot of the core functions of the program have remained the same. And a lot of the basic layout and look of the program really hasn't changed all that much since version seven. So, to open the program simply double click on the icon or else drag and drop a .c4D file unto the icon. That's the native Cinema 4D file format; .c4D.
