What is Cinema 4D?

Hi, this is John Carstarphen for Expert Village. Cinema 4D is an animation and modeling program. It's considered top of the line along with other programs in its class such as auto desks, 3D Max and Maya. Cinema 4D is one of the easiest 3D programs to learn, yet it is also one of the most powerful programs on the market. It's been used in major motion pictures and in high end commercials and so forth. And it's considered a high end 3d Graphics application capable of things like procedural and polygamal modeling, animating, lighting, texturing and rendering. It's really easy to use and its interface has gained a lot of popularity amongst film and motion graphic artists. We are going to focus on the PC version and so all the commands will be for the PC. Also, this is version 7. The latest version is version 10 which we'll do in a later segment, but because we are just dealing with basics, we'll start with version 7.
