How to Use an Iron
Hi, my name is Leslie Mosell, and I'm from Tampa Florida, and on behalf of Expert Village this is how to iron a dress shirt. Chapter three, iron. The type of iron you use or you purchase is up to you. There are a lot of fancy, hightech irons with a lot of settings, but the two most important things to remember when purchasing or when using an iron is that it has a water reservoir, and that it has temperature settings. Depending on the type of shirt you're ironing will depend on the setting of the temperature that you do have. For the shirt we're ironing today, is a hundrend percent cotton, so you want to get the highest temperature on your iron. Make sure it's turned all the way to the highest setting. It usually will be labelled cotton or linen. And that is the setting you want to use for your cotton, or your thick materials. The other important thing to remember is use your steam. A lot of people don't like to use their steam, or their water reservoir because they're afraid to damage their shirts. But when we check the tag it will let you know if you can use steam or not. You're not going to use steam on your silk shirts, or your more delicate materials. But for cotton, to get the best product and to get the best look for your shirt when you're ironing it is important to use steam, and to use the highest temperature. But, the iron you choose is ultimately up to you, but those are the important things to remember.
