Shading & Highlighting the Mouth Area: How to Apply Stage Makeup

Hello! I am Monte and today on behalf of Expert Village, we are going to be talking about makeup for the stage. Now we are going to talk about highlighting and shading around the mouth. With all little contours around the mouth, it is important to have these little small touches of shadow and highlight in order to make sure that you standout. An obvious place to put a little bit of shadow is under your bottom lip here where there is naturally already a shadow, always make sure it stays defined and there is little crease above your mouth under your nose, you put a little line of shadow there and blend it where it kind of fills up that little cavity and for highlighting, the most important feature around the mouth is right below it on the chin. Let us put a little half circle or a full circle or just a quarter moon depending on the shape of your chin. The top of the highlight will just about touch the bottom of the shadow they put under your lip. That will help the surface of your chin standout. You can apply a little bit of shadow, just a tiny line, blend it away on either side of that little roof on top of your mouth to help those contours stand out and that is how you highlight and shade around your mouth.
