Tips for Using Foundation: How to Apply Stage Makeup

Hello! I am Monte and today on behalf of Expert Village, we are going to be talking about makeup for the stage. Right now I am going to talk to you about applying foundation. Foundation is necessary when applying makeup for a variety of reasons, mainly it adds a consistent color and texture to your skin that is important when it is going to be under all the bright stage lights, it helps reducing shine while you are on the stage which can be distracting your face and give your skin an unnatural tone. It also gets along with consistency, it gets rid of imperfections in your face if you have any blemishes or scars of any sort, a foundation is a very easy way to make those things not noticeable to audience members. While applying foundation, make sure that you go over every square inch of your face numerous times so that it is blended well together because you do not want any spots of your skin showing through and in order to apply the foundation ideally you need a new clean sponge such as I have here. That is just the sponge but a sponge specifically intended for makeup application. When applying foundation, it is important not just to put it on the front of your face, but all over on your ears, on your neck, throat under your ears because if there is not a consistent color throughout it will be noticeable to the audience and it will look unnatural. Of course there are a variety of foundations you can buy that can match your skin tone and also your ethnicity.
