How to Identify Gold Etched Antiques

Hello, I'm Statia Widak and I'm from Plainville, Massachusetts and I love collecting glass it is my hobby. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. Right now I am going to show you some pieces etched with a little, well a gold. Some are etched and some are just painted and are painted gold. In the olden days they did a lot of it, it was very expensive. But what I found the gold would rub off and then the piece would not look as pretty cause the gold wouldn't be there. But this is a wedding dish they would call that a wedding candy dish very, very pretty. It's on a pedestal and it?s got a nice little handle here but you can see the touches of gold around here. And over here we have a Colorado glass, it's a little candy dish and you can see the gold all around it and same this is in the green it's still Colorado and this was 1899 these two little dishes. And there very good looking and dainty, real dainty but years ago that's what they did they made the pieces very small. People didn't eat as much then as they do today. Today they feed people very heavy.
