How to Fly Your Body when Skydiving

Hi, this is J.P. Furnari with Expert Village. This clip will be about body movement in freefall. Turns are conducted by banking the upper body. Lowering one elbow while looking in the direction of the turn will turn you in the direction of that elbow. A right elbow is a right turn, a left elbow is a left turn. Forward motion is generated by extending the legs. Straightening them completely, against the wind and sweeping the arms back. This increases the surface area on the lower end of the body, decreasing the surface area on the upper end of the body, causing the body to pitch forward and track in a forward motion. Backsliding is caused by putting the arms out, pulling the legs in causing an increase in surface area on the front end of the body, decreasing the surface on rear end of the body, causing the body to move backwards.
