Tips on Learning to Use Recording Studio EquipmentHi! I’m Tad Donley and I’m speaking in behalf of Expert Village. It’s about knowledge and experience. If you have some knowledge and you have experience, great. If you think you have knowledge and experience but you really don’t and you are discovering new things all the time and you have your own opinion and you have not learned anything, but you haven’t really, may be, were recorded it one time but you do not know anything about the stuff, go to Houston Community College and sign up in their program, get your training. Because there is just too many things, too many things that could go wrong or you just would not know that could just change everything instantly, it is so precise, it is such a precise thing to work with that especially when it comes down to trying to get good sound, professional sound there is so much involved, you have to know what your doing, you got to hear, you got to be trained to hear everything. You got to be trained to hear the little kick drum, you are asking yourself okay, what I need to hear here and all of sudden, the guitar is not quite right, and you have to EQ it again, you got to know how to do this, you got to, in order to create a something that sounds and make it into a hit type of sound, something Mutt Lange would do, I am a Mutt Lange, okay, I got a couple of hits out, I feel good about it, but I am just saying you have to make it, you got to learn, you got to get training, you got to get trained, so you know what to look for, you got to get the training. If you don’t have the training, then it isn’t going to work, it is going to flop, no one is going to come over, you know, it is just, things are going to happen.

Well, he's right, training is good. However, I wouldn't rely on these videos for that. These videos should be removed. They are horribly inaccurate and very biased.
Spoken like a real pretengineer. I have finally heard something that makes since, go to school. I agree, go to school, read a book, heck buy a "Recording&quot ; magazine, read Modern Recording Techniques, do anything but follow the advice of Tad Donley (except the go to school part :) Seriously Tad, has the hot flash of embarrassment paid a visit? Have your hands turned clammy and cold? Do the right thing and request to the web admin that these video's be removed...
