Preventing Dental Cavities by Avoiding Sweets

Hello my name is Melissa and on behalf of Expert Village today we?re going to be talking about how to prevent a cavity and how to save your smile. In this clip let's talk about how to prevent a cavity by monitoring your sweet tooth. Now many people have one, I have one, sweet tooth. If you have a sweet tooth of course that means you enjoy sweets. Foods high in sugar. Things like desserts, high in sugar, chocolate. Many people like chocolate of course it has a lot of sugar in it. So you can eat it. You can enjoy it. But you just need to watch what you eat. So after that you've had that sugary chocolate bar, or that piece of cake a good thing to do is rinse your mouth out with water it will help to cleanse your mouth and clean away some of that bacteria. If you can let's say it is after dinner and you had dessert go and brush your teeth if you can. Maybe your at the office you can excuse yourself to brush your teeth. But having a sweet tooth again the love of foods high in sugar, desserts, sweets, candies, candies are the worst because there very sticky and the sugar sticks to the enamel on your teeth. So candy, rock hard candy that's a bad one. But bacteria it loves sugar so if you got a sweet tooth you know as I say here with the proper oral hygiene and paying attention to what we eat and when we eat it cavities can really be prevented. Cavities can be virtually eliminated. You just have to watch what you eat and when you eat it.
