Root Position of E Major Guitar Chord on the Middle Bottom Strings

To play in E major in the root position on the bottom middle set of strings, place your pinkie on the 7th fret, 5th string. Then your ring finger on the 4th string of the 6th fret. And put your forefinger on the 4th fret of the 3rd string. Your chord should sound like this.
