Root Position of D Major Guitar Chord on the Top Strings

To play D major in the root position on the top set of strings, place your middle finger on the seventh fret, third string. Your ring finger right under it on the seventh fret, second string. And your forefinger on the fifth fret, on the first string. Your chord should sound like this.
