So, now we're going to talk about the backhand. Basically, the same A grip. Sometimes I feel like I want to adjust it, spin it forward a little bit, but, as a beginner, I'd say, just stay with the standard grip. Don't alter it. You can hit the forehand flat, you can hit the backhand flat and what you want to do with the backhand is again, you're hanging your arm, trying to hang your arm almost perpendicular to the ground. Almost like a tennis stroke. And you're coming through the ball, making contact right in front of your body, not back and not way out in front, but almost right off of your right foot as you're leaning and if you're left handed, it'd obviously be off your left foot. But you want to keep a level, almost keeping your wrist level with the table surface so that when you're making contact your paddle doesn't spin up or down. Obviously, if it's angled down, you're going to end up hitting the ball into the net and if you?re followed through and you've got it angled up, you're going to knock it clear off the end of the table because you're going to miss the table completely. So what you want to do, keep your eye on the ball, the ball comes in and you just follow through, straight through the ball. And just follow through, you can come through a little high, but basically, you want to get your arms back into the ready position. We'll talk about that next.
