Basic Serve in Ping Pong

Now we're going to talk about the serve or getting the ball into play. Basically, in ping pong rules the ball has to be completely visible before you make contact with your paddle. You cannot take the ball and hit it out of your hand or hit it off your hand. The ball, you can either throw it up, what i do is I'll just throw it up and then I'll make contact with my paddle. You have to have the ball like i said, completely visible away from your hand for somebody to be able to see it. With the pros, they'll tend to hide the ball but they're still throwing the ball up at some point so that it's clearly visible away from their hand. So that's the very beginning of the serve, make sure that the ball is up in the air not hitting it off your hand or holding the ball.
