Ok, now that its time to, we've got our fire built up, looks pretty good. It's going to be a nice size fire; it's going to keep us warm. How are we going to light the fire? Well, obviously there's a couple of different choices. You can use matches, a little regular match box, you can use box matches that are a little bit longer, you can use a lighter that people use for cigars/cigarettes, or you can use my preference and favorite is the lighter that has the extension on the end. That way you can stick it in; insert it in a little bit further into the fire. You don't have to leave so much a big gap for your hand to fit into, you'll be able to squeeze it inside there. And then before you actually light the fire, just do a quick walk around your fire pit. Whatever you have. Make sure that there's nothing that's dry, that there's anything in the way that's going to catch fire that you inadvertently left, misplaced. Who knows what it could be? Just safety cautious, always thinks about safety first, and just take a quick look around before you actually go ahead and light the fire.
