Magic Card Trick Fundamentals
Hi! I am Brandon Nowasky and on behalf of Expert Village.com I am going to show you some of the fundamentals of card tricks. We are going to work on just the fundamental techniques. First, what we want to do is how to hold the cards. This is just called the dealers grip or your regular left hand grip. What you want to make sure is that you have your first finger out in front here, other three fingers on the side and your thumb rest along the opposite side. This is going to be your standard grip for dealing or spreading the cards. First finger is there to line up the cards, so you want to make sure you have that there. It is going to come into use later on when we start to get to more advanced techniques. Now the other grip that you will use from time to time is the overhand grip which is going to be in the right hand just two to three fingers on the front, thumb on the back side. Now, this is going to be used for doing different types of cuts and just transferring from one hand to the other. The last thing we want to do is learn to spread the cards. This is going to take a little practice to get smooth. It is really quite simple. All you are going to do is thumb off from the dealers grip into the right hand and your right hand is going to walk the cards over, so when you do it in a natural speed, it just looks like this and this is normally how you have someone select a card. Once again, you are going to thumb off from the top, start to spread out, fingers going to pull them down. Like I said it is going to take a couple of times practice to get that down. Once you do it will be really smooth; as I said I can have someone select a card. In our next clip, we will show you how to do a break, which is a very crucial technique.
