Using the .Mac Features in Mac OS X Leopard

My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I will be showing you some of the new features in Mac OS 10.5 Leopard. Now I'd like to take a second to go over some of the new .Mac features. If you are a .Mac subscriber these will be of great use to you. If not, these will mean little to nothing to you so... You are in your system preferences as always, and you are going to go over here, under Internet Network, to .Mac. Click on that. First thing you'll is sign in or sign out interface. It tells you how many days you have until your account is up. It tells you about your storage space, all that neat stuff. Then you've got your sync features right here. They've added a couple since Tiger. It takes a second for it to read from the server. Obviously you can change your synchronization to automatically every hour, every day, every week or manually, which has always been here. The new additions here is that you can sync your dashboard widgits which is a really neat idea if you have multiple machines and want to keep all your widgets the same, maybe from your work computer into your home computer or your notebook to your desktop. There is also a feature to sync your dock items. It works very much the same way. It will makes sure that...It won?t sync the order of the items but it will make sure the same items are in both of your docks. So...the problem is with a two way sync you've got to make sure that you get them both sorted the way you want first and then it will keep them that way otherwise you can't change it on one and expect it to change it on the other without changing both because what will happen is, if you change...if you take some off of one it will seem like one removed some off the other one and vice versa, so... You'll also see now there is a check box to sync up your notes; a bit of the new notes feature. And also Entourage Notes which used to not be there either so it's a nice little touch. Under iDisk, this all looks the same as always. And the other new tab here is the "Back To My Mac" feature. This basically allows you to access your computer through .Mac from any other spot, any other computer, anywhere. So, as long as this is turned on, your fine.
