Hello! My name is Dwayne Carter and on behalf of expertvillage.com we are talking about cleaning brass instruments. We have just washed and cleaned a trumpet, dismantled it. Now we are going to put it back together. Before we do that I am going to take a soft dry towel and wipe it down and make sure all the moisture is off of it and once that is done we want to begin greasing our slides. So we will start with our tuning slide and we will just rub a small amount on there, we don’t want to have extra buildup and then do the same on the lead pipe and then we will put this together. I am going to push it all the way in that way you can see any extra buildup there comes around the end of the slide and wipe it off. Do the same for each one of your slides. Also you want to take your dry towel and run inside the valve casing to make sure that is dry inside. Do it from both the ends and do that for each one of your valve casings. Once you have completed that you can begin assembling the valves.
