How to Select a Rug Shampooer

Hi! I'm Steve Chubin from Steven's Sewing and Vacuum Center in King of Prussia, PA. Today we are going to talk about steamers or what we like to call them, extractors. Even though we are talking about steamer's, I would like to cover a method of cleaning that a lot of people use in carpeting. This is called a rotary shampooer. These types of cleaners do not use any kind of steam and do not extract. What they are doing is simply scrubbing in a solution and it's called a dry foam rug shampoo scrubbing in a solution, the solution is drying on your carpet and then you are using your vacuum to vacuum up the dirt that these break loose. This is a method that has been around for many years and some may consider it an old fashioned method of cleaning but it is effective and it does do the job.
