How to Install a Window in a Recording Studio

On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Gregg Tauriello. I'm from Sweet 16 Studio, and I'm here to talk to you about soundproofing for a recording studio. Okay, here we are at the exterior window. I just wanted to mention to you that if you skimp on your windows; all the soundproofing in the world is not going to stop that sound from going out or the sound from coming in. You've got to have at least one double pane window when you use your windows, when you design your windows. Another consideration is to make sure you buy good quality windows, especially if you want them to open and close. Make sure you get windows with really nice tight seals, because if there's any air space that gets through at all, again, all your soundproofing is out the window, literally. So let's get nice, good quality double pane windows when we build our studio, or when we replace our old single pane windows, we're going to put doubles in. And if you've got a problem with a certain neighbor, or if you're by a barking dog, or if you're close to whatever that's creating noise, I'm going to show you another step further that you can go.
