How to Check a New Heater Core Hose

Hello I'm Mark Blocker with expert village. In this segment we're going to cover a little tip that might help you and assist you in saving you some time and adequately verifying that you correctly replace a hose. In order to verify that the hose is installed correctly and not leaking, we need to fill the vehicle with coolant and run it for 15, 10 or 15 minutes until the vehicle reaches operating temperature to verify that it's not leaking. To get accessibility to the hose we just replaced so we could see the fittings sometimes it might be more beneficial if the vehicle could be run without those components that we had to remove for accessibility. It would be good to leave those off until we can verify that the hose is correctly installed and not leaking. But if these parts are necessary for the correct operation of the vehicle, by all means they must be installed before we can fill it with coolant and operate the vehicle. In this case one of the items was an air boob and that's pretty important that the air intake system be drawn through the filter and that prevents any foreign objects be sucked into the engine and causing potential damage. Please watch our next segment on installing the previously removed parts part one.
