How to Draw a Teddy Bear for Beginners: Part 5
Hi! My name is Peggy Robertson and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to show you how to draw the teddy bear part 5. In the last clip we started adding shape to the body and the arms and the head. In this one, this is a dark area under here, so I am going to make it little darker because it is a shadowy. Short little hairlines along the belly will define right up by the arm here and then curving them to make it look like the belly is round. Little bit darker up here at the neck because this is also in shadow. Under the chin is a darker area so you follow this shape. I am drawing the hair as if the way it would grow if it was a live animal; it follows the shape of the body. This is shadow down here, so it should be a little bit darker and curve the lines up underneath the arm. Now you see the importance of how shadows can really make your object pop out. Change to a softer pencil to get a darker shadow in this area, still always short lines. Follow the shape of the object, add a little fuzz hanging over here; these lines would be like longer hair. Add the couple of the accent lines on the other side. Always follow the shape that you are drawing because that gives it the three-dimensional feel to it. We will stick the hair across this leg too. See how it softens that round part of the leg, the circle that you drew earlier, short strokes following the shape. It is always darker in the bottom and lighter in the high spots like the top of the leg and then I am going to clean up this line up here. I don’t like seeing this line here, so I am going to take it out and actually draw it back in using short strokes like little hairs.
