Safety Equipment Used in Boxing

Hi! My name is Marvin McDowell, USA Boxing certified boxing trainer. On behalf of Expert Village, I want to show you some of the boxing safety equipment. What I have here, this piece is called a cup or the groin protector. It protects you from getting damaged on your hips or in your groin area, so it is a very needy piece of equipment that you need in boxing. What I have here is called headgear. It is made to absorb the shock. It also protects your ears and protects your eyes. This is one thing that you need when you are spawn and when you are in competition. This piece is called glove; these are the training gloves. These gloves are heavily padded made to absorb shock and not to give out shock. Right here… this protects your wrist. The piece right here, when you keep your hands closed when you are punching, closed tight, you would not hurt yourself and you would not hurt your hands. What I have here is called a mouthguard or a mouthpiece. When you bite down on this it protects you from getting your teeth knocked out and from getting your lips swell. So it is a vital piece of boxing equipment that you need. You cannot box without a mouth guard.
