Hi everyone. My name is Kevin Smith, also known as TubaLove. This part of my series concerns cleaning of the tuba and the general maintenance of the horn. Now, this is similar to if you own a car. You know, you do fundamental things periodically, changing the oil, checking the pressure in the tires, this, that and the other, adds years sometimes to the life of the car. It's the exact same thing in dealing with a tuba. And believe me, I have seen some tuba players who just take absolutely no care of their instrument whatsoever. So I'm going to run through a series of just things that you can do, as I said, just take care of this horn. In my case, and in anybodies case now, tuba's are very costly instruments and I really can't afford another one. So the things that I do for just general upkeep are going to ensure that I have this tuba for the remainder of my natural life and maybe into the next one, depending on my karmic retribution.
