How to Draw a Cylinder for Beginners
Hi! My name is Peggy Robertson and on behalf of Expert Village.com, I am going to be teaching you how to draw the shape of a cylinder. We are all very familiar with a cylinder. This can is a cylinder. The straight sides and the round top that is a cylinder. Sometimes they are hollow and sometimes they are enclosed. I am going to show you an easy way to draw a cylinder. We start with straight lines, one for each side, and then you connect the top with an oval, and then you connect the bottom with an oval; that is your basic cylinder. Now you can make long lines for the side and close the top of the small hole and close the bottom with a small oval and that will be a pole, may be a pole someone wants to hang hanging flowers on or whatever you can use a pole for. You can also use a cylinder to make say a flowerpot. It is the standard cylinder and you add a flower at the top or a plant of some sort and there you have your flowerpot. Now we can combine the cylinder with other shapes and say for a dog. First we will make the long cylinder for the dog’s body and then we will use short small cylinders for the dog’s legs, front and back, then we will combine it with a circle for the head and a cone for the neck and then a smaller cone for the nose and for the ears and then we have a little dog; pretty easy once you put it all together.
